freaky tuesday

ok, first off...

happy 28th, seb!

yes, our beloved sebastian has crept one year closer to thirty. wow. thirty. looks big. no worries now, seb is still generally in pretty good shape, but the signs of age are showing: he's got a gimpy knee (from his frisbee days,) a few white hairs (from his med school/internship days,) and considerably less hair overall (from just regular days.) AND i am pleased to announce, he shows no sign yet of having inherited his father's little paunch. in fact, just last night, he was asking me to admire his 'six pack.' a six pack of what i'm not sure. then again, muscle definition is hard to miss on someone with less than 5% body fat. i kid, i kid!! but seriously, i love you silly seb, chrome dome and all. (hug.)

alright, enough gush. today has been officially deemed 'freaky' on two accounts.

incident A, today we have had what the weather channel reports as 30mph gusts of wind, but what i call, occasions to pray that the roof is nailed down tight. i was waiting for the patio furniture to be lifted up and smashed through the glass window. for tree branches to be ripped off and slammed into our house. so far, the worst has been that the grill cover was blown off and i lost half a roll of paper towels that got blown off of the roll to the floor before i came down and noticed it. but still, freaky.

incident B, i came home from the grocery store and drove past a troop of 'fugitive recovery agents' hanging out on the sidewalk one house down. i reacted inwardly with a school-girl mixture of 'uh-oh' and 'this is cool!' and it could have only been more momentus if it had actually been DOG the bounty hunter from that A&E tv show filmed here in hawaii. apparently the fugitive in question was not around, however, and they drove off shortly after without their man. it's times like these i'm actually glad we have a huge scary looking dog in the house.
