movin' on up

caleb finally reached what i consider important milestones, given his slow growth rate: he has finally outgrown his 'newborn' size clothes and 'newborn' diapers and has moved up into 3 month outfits and size 1 diapers. here he is in his new jammies:
he loves this outfit because of the duckies, he kept trying to pick them up off the fabric.

so far on the laughing front he has still been pretty stingy with them, giving out only one or none per day since that first time. but today i figured out something he really enjoyed, which consistently yielded results of about 6 bursts of laughter in a row, and of course when i tried to get his dad on the phone to hear it, he decides he's tired of it and would much rather just chew on his hand. BUT it finally gave him the right to wear this outfit, which i had been saving for the occasion:the burp cloth you see under his head in most pictures is part of what i blame the slow growth rate on: this kid spits up alot, so much so that anywhere we lay him, we put a cloth down waiting for old faithful to cheese himself and his surroundings. i keep telling him it is nice to share but i had puke for breakfast, or that if he likes it so much he should be polite and stop trying to give it back, or teasing him that he's trying to stash some away under his chin for a midnight snack. but he is finally taking some reflux medicine that seems to be working, although, with his daddy's genes in him, there's only so much improvement in growth one can reasonably expect. but i've decided as long as he's healthy and meeting his other developmental milestones, i'm going to stop obsessing over charts, stop feeling guilty at each weighing, and just leave this one up to God.

Moving up in diaper size is a fabulous indicator. Keep at it, mom.
