remember from a few posts ago, when our yard was flooded after it rained for a week? well, the biological effects of the downpour are now literally emerging; an onslaught of moquitos have made our home their new favorite restaurant. it doesn't help that with the cool weather, we've had the windows and screen doors open day and night, but it's getting pretty rediculous. even at night when i covered up for whatever minimal protection it would provide, they found the part in my hair and settled down to dine. i even have bites on my toes! needless to say, we have been rather odd looking creatures lately, dappled here and there with cortizone cream and scratching ourselves fervently... if this doesn't end soon, we'll have to start wearing socks on our hands.
