adventures of the not quite (yet) nearly famous

so last week caleb got his first paycheck. yep, that tv show called and gave us a call time and our directions to where they were filming this week's scenes.

unfortunately, another baby's call time was 30 minutes before ours, and they got all the shots they needed at that location from him, so caleb didn't actually get filmed this week. but, he still gets paid for 2 hours of sitting around in a cloth diaper under a tent and getting eaten by mosquitoes.

most of the people i talked to that day said they would probably use him in the shots for subsequent episodes, and i think there's a decent shot they're right. he's still not quite as big as they'd like him to be yet to match the other babies they're using for this character (the other baby filming that day was a 14 lb 3 month old). so the fact that they had us show up tells me they may be running out of babies.

we didn't get to really see any of the main actors except one, who was helping me out of a van before i even really registered who he was. now i am not one to really go gaga for 'famous' people. seeing him in person was more a feeling of surreality than awe. although i do plan to bring a sharpie and a plain white onesie next time, just in case anyone offers an autograph.

my only hope is that caleb does not let it all go to his head. after just one day on set, he already seems wary of photographers.
don't worry caleb, i won't let the paparazzi get you!
