and the (nap) saga continues

for those who do not get why i am focused on this nap thing, or really don't care, please feel free to disregard this post.

so, progress is definitely still being made on the nap front, but, it is clear this is not some quick overnight fix and there are no magic tricks, at least not with this baby. but it has slowly become easier for both of us, he now takes 2-3 naps a day, averaging 30-40 minutes each, usually only cries a little or fusses for 15-20 minutes, and rarely cries more than 30 minutes, and sometimes goes down with no fusses at all.

and today, his morning nap was one hour and forty-five minutes long, and yes mrs. farmer, i did sorta feel like a rock star, even though, from my seat, it is caleb doing all the real work. here he is, all wide eyed and bushy-tailed from his longest nap thusfar:

so i no longer have this desperation that he will never nap well, or this overwhelming guilt each time he cries when i put him down. there are still bumps in the road, today he had his afternoon nap cut short by a case of hiccups, he still rolls himself over at times and can't roll back, and the trip to the mainland is sure to throw his clock off for a while. but overall, i can see he really is more alert and focused when he has had a good nap, and the only regret is that now that he's napping, i feel like the time i get to spend with him each day isn't really that much at all.

another benefit is that for the first time in a long time, i am having regular quiet times, during his morning nap, and am really really thankful for that.
