playing dress up

in the process of planning our trip to the mainland next week, i pulled out some clothes we had been given in baby showers to see what caleb had grown in to. (by the way, did i forget to mention that we're coming to the mainland? well, if you want to know when we'll be where, just leave a comment, i'll get back to you.) after all, if i'm trying to pack light, might as well make sure what i'm packing actually fits.

thankfully most of what i was planning to take fits him well. i only had to stitch-cinch one pair of pants to make sure they stayed up. but i realized that the size 3 shoes that fit him perfectly without socks had no hope of working with socks. so now he has some size 4's that are still a little big with socks. too bad they don't make half-sizes for babies!

it's a lot of fun for me of course, but caleb can only handle 2-3 outfits at a time before he's reached the limits of his patience. needless to say, i didn't get as many pictures as i wanted, so i'll just have to wait until he's wearing them for reals and not for sizing. but i did get a picture of him in some cute jammies (yay for fuzzy fleece creepers):

and in an adorable jumper outfit: when i took this picture, i had a flashback - hasn't he worn this before? i looked through our pictures when putting together a collection for nana, and lo and behold, look what i found:

i took this picture of him in october of 2007, he was almost one month old, and this was his 'costume' for halloween - he was dressed up as a one year old. what a difference a year makes!
