caleb turned seven months today, here is the standard birth-month picture, and for the first time in a while, to me anyway, can see he's really starting to get bigger. he may actually be over 14 lbs now! we'll have to wait until his appointment next monday to be sure, though.

we apologize to eager grandparents for the lack of posts lately, but caleb has been a bit busy. we have been working on our baby-push-ups, as featured here,

and seriously thinking about crawling, if we could just coordinate the necessary parts. he is an expert at rotating around to face the direction he wants to go, but when trying to bring up his knees and move forward, he usually just rolls back onto his back. (the plus side is that now he knows the best way to roll from front to back.) but primarily he just reaches as far as his little arms can go, kicks his legs wildly, and whines in frustration, but for all his efforts he very rarely gains any ground and actually ends up moving backwards sometimes. i'd be frustrated too!
he also went to a friend's son's birthday party where he saw his first real clown. he did not, thankfully, seem afraid of the clown, though we did pass on the face painting for now. he seemed very intrigued by the bounce house, also something he'll just have to wait a few years for.

happy seven months, caleb!
