i wouldn't have picked up on this except it was accompanied by the utterance 'BAYguhn' which he's used before for bagel. and at first i thought the 'sign' was a coincidence but clearly it is not because here he is enunciating for me:
as if to say, i'm sorry, did I stutter? i said BAYguhn! and make it snappy!
as far as i can tell, i do not actually stick my fingers up my nose while eating a bagel, so i have no idea how this sign evolved, but he has obviously embraced it.
of course what he really should be trying to say is cream cheese because once he gets the bagel he essentially just licks and chews the bagel until every scrap of cheese is gone and then declares him self done.
this was all around 530 am, having been up for fifteen minutes already, because despite having room darkening curtains and despite that i tuck those curtains into the window sill to maximize its effect, the tiny slivers of light sneaking in from the top of the curtain are enough for noah to wake up and declare it breakfast time. we come downstairs and snuggle on the couch for a minute or two before he says 'EAT!' and climbs up into his chair. he is a hobbit, this one, he eats his breakfast literally at the crack of dawn and then has second breakfast with the rest of the house when they wake up. thank goodness he has his father's skinny genes or he'd be overweight by now.
when we move, his room will definitely be the one with the view facing west.

Very cute. I am the kid that never outgrew waking up with the slivers of light and room darkening curtains. Sorry...this could take awhile!
