he'll be a beach bum in no time

today was caleb's first day at the beach. it was cool and breezy, so we pretty much just hung out in the shade, but he seemed to like it (read: he was awake, not feeding, and not screaming.)

it was also my first real experience breastfeeding in public. i learned that sarongs work great as a breastfeeding cover, that not having to lug bottles, formula, and water around to feed him is very nice, and that while i may have gotten some double-takes from other beachgoers, no one stared or gave me dirty looks. i am sure reactions may have been different if i'd been at a restaurant, but it was just enough experience to make me less nervous about the whole concept, for which both caleb and i are very thankful.

You will find that HI is VERY accepting of BF in public. And as crazy conservative as my Hubby is that makes him ok with it, too.

Love the picture. It is D-LISH!
