we've had 2 days in a row of above 90 degree weather which mean everyone's freaking out. my neighbor, who i love and who has adopted me and the kids and gives me sweet peas to put by my bedside, checked with us to make sure we were coping with the heat. i'm like i'm from the midwest. this is a piece of cake.
it's true that a lot of the appeal to me of this region is the much more moderate summers and so far it has been, but i'll easily admit it's nice to have a few toasty days here and there so we can have times like these. and caleb by the way takes his 'studies' very seriously. about 70% of his imaginative play these days is about the ocean and usually him rescuing ocean creatures. of course in his world "great whites are really just trying to rescue people they think are in danger." sure, kid. sure.
and no, we're not watching shark week. i'll let him live with his delusions a little longer.
