the second (but the one that happened first) was when one of my all-too-frequent (at least once every month or two) curb-checks turned into a decimated tire (with both kids in the car, naturally) that turned into over four hours of trying to get it fixed. thankfully, the tacoma area was having a dry day for this season.
the third was when caleb announced that he was going to sneak out of his room at night to clean because he could see dirt that i didn't see and he wanted it to be really clean for Christmas. this is when you know you're not screening yourself well enough around your kids. it's also when you realize that you and your husband's progeny may be a little perfect storm of your genetically combined neuroses.
the fourth occurred when i was putting the kiddos to bed and watched noah climb out of his crib like he'd been doing it for years. and as far as i know this is the first time. never found him out when he was supposed to be in. sadly and thankfully he hurt his tummy a bit doing it so maybe he won't be too keen to try it again.
