brothers

someone once told me that i would love having boys. and trust me, i do.

but what's better than just having boys, is having brothers.

i know they'll have plenty of ups and downs, but at almost one and almost three, they're already in love.

noah has always enjoyed caleb. and caleb is starting to really enjoy noah, whether mommy is watching or not.

they crawl around and chase each other. they play peekaboo. they get each other laughing and squealing. they give each other raspberries. no, not the fruit. pbbbttthhhh raspberries, you know what i mean. they dance together.

caleb protects noah, when he's not endangering or injuring him, that is. he tells him 'NO' in a very authoritative voice when he's flirting with disaster. he actually lays on his legs at times when he's wandering towards something off-limits. he gives him kisses and hugs (again, even when he thinks mom's not watching) and sings him songs when he's upset.

and it looks like noah's instinct is to protect caleb, too. i was tickling caleb the other day, and caleb was loving it, but noah was clearly not. he started this distressed yelling, looking at me like 'seriously, cut it out!' and then looked like he was about to break out in tears. he loves his bruddah.

i love my boys. so much.

i'm gonna have to remember this when i start to hear 'MOM, tell him to stop LOOKING AT ME' from the back seat.
