so call me a liar

it seems whenever i actually say i'm planning to blog more often and catch up, i never do, so from now on i think it's safer just to not make any promises and let you all be pleasantly surprised and/or shocked when i post more than once every few weeks.

anyway, my sd-card-usb converter thingy is MIA, so no pictures this time, i'd like to say they'd be here soon, but well, read that first paragraph again, won't you? we are moved in, almost entirely, with only a small pile in the office (waiting for seb to get an actual office assigned to him) and some things in the garage to actually be 'unpacked.'  that's not to say everything's organized well and in it's final resting place, just that there are not jumbled piles or half-empty boxes lying around all over.  i hope to send some snail-mail address change cards to those of you i have physical addresses for before the baby comes. basically because if it doesn't happen before the baby i'm betting it won't happen after.

things are going well, we are all settling in quickly to the house but also the town and seb's job, we've already had our parents visit, seb is about to take off for a conference where he'll get to see some of his colleagues from hawaii, and i'll be taking a trip in about a week to attend my sister-in-love's baby shower, then sneak back down here and basically wait for noah to show up.

caleb has been growing in leaps and bounds, more intellectually than physically of course, but in every way i keep finding myself looking at him and thinking, he's really not a baby any more. he's my little boy. his verbal vocabulary is really expanding, his words getting clearer, his willingness to attempt words getting greater, and his spontaneous speech coming faster than i really thought it would, given the delays we'd seen so far. he loves going into noah's room and peeking into the still unoccupied crib. he's pulled on my tummy and said 'baby OUT'  like he just can't wait to get his hands on him. he asks me to draw picture of noah when we're coloring. today we made a family of play-dough snakes, with mommy, daddy, caleb, noah, and a request for uncle jake thrown in for good measure. he'd make caleb snake kiss noah snake, and within the same minute, tear noah snake in half, say 'uh-oh!' and then ask me to put him back together. luckily the real noah will be made of sturdier stuff. i know he's going to have a rough time adjusting, especially the whole mommy-sharing concept, but for now at least noah is eagerly anticipated.

i'm still not promising a timeline but i do want to post some pictures soon, and now that we're moved in and i'm not tackling boxes, hopefully it really will be sooner than later.
