a late saturday, alot of firsts

ok, first of all.... sorry for no posts in a while. we've both been busy, and not alot of new exciting things going on lately... so aside from the fascinating details of 'laundry day' there hasn't been much to post about.

i did have an authentic 'night out on the town' the other night though, thanks to 'residents night out' with seb's work. basically, we met alot of other residents in a bar in waikiki and made vain attempts to have conversation. i don't really like bars, i don't really drink but am not opposed to drinking, just to drunkeness. mostly, it's the smokey atmosphere that leaves me weezy and smelling like an ashtray, the inevitable drunk frat-like posses, and the noise. when we got there, we were about an hour behind everyone else (who i really didn't know anyway) and so having polite screaming conversation over a headache inducing cover band for posterity sake was not really my cup of tea. but there were some there i knew better and enjoy their company, so it was not all loss, and at least now i've had the experience of spending time in a bar to know what i do or don't like about it. i had an amaretto sour, i liked it, and even better, i could barely taste any alcohol.

after screaming at each other for a while and moving closer to second hand induced lung cancer, some of us decided to move on to quieter, more food oriented elements at the cheesecake factory. it was my first time in one of those too.... i never knew there were that many ways to make cheese cake. defenitely needs more investigation.

after gorging ourselves, we moved on to a karaoke bar.... not to sing but to say hi and bye to the original group. i did not partake in the festivities, but realized that with the right group of friends and the right attitude, it wouldn't be so bad. now i just have to convince seb.

Is Seb in a karaoke bar a good idea? :)
