to 'celebrate' his 'monthday,' caleb had a doctors appointment to check on his weight gain and developmental milestones. well, he had not gained nearly as much as i had thought, but the doc reassured me that since he is alot more mobile and active, any weight gain is a good sign. i was so relieved, i really thought this was going to be the visit where she broke out the 'f' word (formula, that is.) instead she said he was doing great and to keep it up. woohoo!
unfortunately out time at the hospital did not end there, i had to get my id card renewed, and what i had imagined would be about a 20-30 minute process instead amounted to about a 4.5 hour adventure in the main lobby's waiting area. they had already confiscated my expired id at the gate, so i was stuck, i had to get it that day.
caleb had kicked and cooed through his first nap, and i hadn't brought any food besides some puffs (not expecting to be there all day) but did my little guy lose it? absolutely not. he was so well behaved and perky i could not believe it. i just kept saying 'you're so good! i'm so proud of you!' he is a people person, so i think it was all the passersby and others waiting for their id's that kept him going, everywhere he turned there was a new face to smile at. and lots of children and babies to watch. his only moments of frustration where when i would not let him eat the arms of the chair or crawl all over the floor.
happy nine months, caleb! you're the best!
